This Reserve is like a silent roar rising from the Douro vineyard terraces: it imposes by its extravagant and perfect combination of aromas and flavours that create an overall harmony. The wine ages in French Oak casks for 12 months. Deep ruby colour. It has an intense nose, with notes of very mature fruit and prune. Wood is present, but very well integrated. On the palate it is fresh and has a balanced acidity, with good volume and smooth tannins. It is a velvety wine, with notes of dark fruit standing out and a long aftertaste. Registered in 1913, the Lello brand is part of the history of Sociedade dos Vinhos Borges. The brand’s name harks back to its origins: the Lello family, more specifically Artur Lello and his son, Carlos Lello. Early on, these two joined the Borges family in the management of the company and contributed in a major way to embedding the know-how and art of making good wine.The name Lello has been kept on as a tribute to the family.
