Kindling Cracker - The King Size Description
This is the King size version of the Original Kindling Cracker, with the same clever design, and superior build quality, this monster wood splitter will take logs up to 22cm (8.66") giving even more flexibility than the original.
Like the original, almost anyone can use this wood splitter, cleverly designed as an upturned but protected axe edge upon which the log or branch is 'bashed', either by a Kindling Cracker Sledgehammer or you could use another piece of wood. Turn your own fallen branches into manageable sized firewood, perfect for feeding wood burners, fireplaces, pizza ovens, firepits, or wood burning saunas.

1. Difference between Original and King Size models?
Original can split wood up to 16cm diameter, King size up to 22.5cm
2. Does it need to be sharpened?
No, The unique wedge design of the Kindling Cracker means the blade does not need to be razor sharp to work well. But it can be sharpened if you wish.
3 Will it wear out with lots of use?
No, top grade cast iron is used to make the Kindling Cracker. The Kindling Cracker will last for generations if cared for, made in a top quality foundry in Australia...beware of cheap Chinese copies!
4. Can it split hardwood?
Absolutely, any wood that can be split with an axe is no problem
5. Does it have to be fixed?
Totally up to you, they are sturdy enough to work fine freestanding and than can be transported, but there are holes if you want to screw it down as a permanent fixture.

Hubby very happy, step son now jealous and wants one.
My only grip/suggestion would be that a rubber hose or shaped piece of wood needs to be supplied to cover the "blade" section when not in use for safety and a posh stand for the unit would be "icing on the cake" , that said a very good product, highly recommend Glow company, an no doubt I'll be back shopping again.

I bought the smaller one for my son on his narrow boat as he has a little wood burner, and he was so impressed I bought myself this one, its quite a bit bigger but my trees are large and the branches can be very girthy, and it looks great on my large fireplace, its more ornate than the smaller one, and I no longer have to buy overpriced kindling from the garage.
