We are very proud of our talented Chef and her team who endeavour at all times to provide the highest quality menus and choices from banquets, bespoke and set menus to canapes, afternoon teas and hot and cold informal buffets of all levels incorporating as many local suppliers adding quality and provenance to your celebration. We can cater for all dietary requirements and have a large selection of menus for you to peruse and we have included some of our options separately to help decide what fits your requirements, again making each occasion totally individual. We have a range of selector menus and these are then priced according, having many years of experience between them the team will be able to guide you and advise at all times. We have a fantastic cellar of wines and champagnes and can offer different options and packages to include these along with arrival, pre and post dinner drinks. We can add in outside providers for Prosecco vans and food vendors should you be looking at a marquee hire and separate catering.

Being part of Pennington Hotels also means we can offer a number of different accommodation details for your wedding guests. We can offer a special discounted rate of 10% off the best available rate in all of our properties – there are 11 bedrooms in the Coachman’s Quarters and this can be booked on a self-catering or bed and breakfast rate. The Pennington Hotel and The Inn at Ravenglass which are less than 2 miles away, we also have Sella Park Country House Hotel which is a little further away and can accommodate 36 in 16 bedrooms, so we really do have the whole package covered.

For all of our weddings we offer the Stable Yard function suite for the evening celebrations as many of the items in the castle are very valuable, fragile and historic so we make sure that all the revelry of the evening occasion can be enjoyed without worry. This function suite has space for live bands, discos, photobooths and other items along with space for food. A fully licenced bar can be available until 1.00am Weather permitting there is outside seating and an enclosed area for your younger guests to run around in with the gardens and playground nearby.

Our team are on hand to advise with this allowing you to decide which is best for you, the registrars, celebrants and church bookings responsibility lies with the happy couple dependant on which type of service you wish to have. Here at Muncaster Castle we have a Church in the gardens too so this can be booked by speaking to the Reverend on 01946 724724. When checking dates we are more than happy to hold your date for 14 days provisionally whilst you makes sure of the availability of the officiants – to secure your date we would require at this point a £500.00 deposit (non-refundable) the date is then yours and you can really start to plan your dream castle wedding. With some wanting to hold celebrations for bigger numbers a marquee can be hired from local suppliers and introduced on the Castle Front Lawns. This would come as an additional cost to yourselves – we can advise and there are a couple of bespoke Tipi companies also that we work with giving you again the individuality and freedom to have your day your way. As many of these can accommodate outside catering and you can bring in your own caterers for this type of event we would operate this under a different rate plan for a Venue Fee for the Ground Hire and there would be some additional terms and conditions with this type of wedding or event.
