Established in 2018, but with a shared history stretching back decades, Tallaght Marching Band is an amalgamation of Tallaght Youth Band (originally founded in 1977) and Tallaght Festival band (originally founded in 1983).
After many years of cooperation and joint-ventures, the two bands - who have a combined total of 10+ All-Ireland Championships and various other international accolades - decided that a merger was in the best interest of everyone. The result was Tallaght Marching Band and we are recruiting.
Playing a musical instrument is extrememly rewarding and something that can stand to you for the rest of your life. We welcome everyone, from complete beginners right the way up to advanced musicians.
The drumline is the beating heart of the band and you can learn how to play a variety of different drums, both big and small, along with various other percussion instruments.
Our All-Ireland Champion colourguard blends styles ranging from ballet to contemporary dance, adding equipment like flags, rifles and sabres, to perform stunning displays, both with the band and as an independent performance group, at competitions across Ireland and the UK.
If Tallaght Marching Band sounds like an activity that you'd like to be part of, we'd be delighted to hear from you. We regularly hold open rehearsals at various locations around the Tallaght area, so potential members have an opportunity to get a feel for what band life is all about.
No experience is necessary, and all tuition and equipment is provided. Please feel free to get in touch with us via email or our social media pages if you'd like to enquire about joining. We look forward to hearing from you.
